Comment: What a glorious trip down memory lane, some of the the happiest years of my life were spent at Cuckney and it is still nice to see that the school is going well. I left in 1990 and have just recently met up with some friends i went to Cuckney with, we had such a good night discussing our exploits and talking about Mr Beldham and the late Mrs Simpson. We still have the recipe for cornflake tart from Mrs Marson too. Happy days.

Thank you Cuckney pupils, staff and parents, past and present, for giving me so many happy memories. Comment: I've just finished A level English Lit and part of it was WW1 Literature! I can't believe welbeck class are studying it, it's intense stuff. I recognise the display as the cover of Birdsong. Have they done Wilfred Owen and Seigfried Sassoon? I wish I could come back and teach them all about it!

Comment: good old times, time flies by when your having fun. memories in my mind live for ever. it really doesn't feel like 3 years i am a "x" pupil. its nice to see how much it has come on in the years the best part was sports day tug of war grr, i go to meden technollage collage now as some people mite no, my year was the best,sam stillwell, ryan jacob, and a lot lot more im am happy to tell you that they are all doing superb even thought sam didnt go to meden i am still in touch with him. Mr Powell got to through my sats and after that nothing could stop me though's students who are coming up to meden will lokk forward to it, this is just some tips enjoy it as much as you can, i still rember the day the first day my knees where giving way beneth me, the was only about six of us and around us stodd 234 people. but here i am now rareing to go. hope to speak to you sonn . cuckney is the best xx.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I'd take the opportunity to have a wander to the school and take a look at how things have changed this Sunday morning. I left the school to go on to Meden in 1977 I think!!! I then went on to do my A levels and then my BSc Degree and then Masters Degree. What wonderful memories of Cuckney School I have. Thank you for providing a good, safe and sound start to my education.

Comment: I`m an x pupil, I attended Cuckney school in 1958/59.We`d moved from Mansfield and lived in Parkers Row.I remember the class rooms were split into 2 classes,the coke stoves where we used to thaw out the bottles of milk in winter for break.I remember Mr Evans was a teacher there and his daughter Jean was also a pupil.I had lots of friends and it was THE happiest time of my childhood.I do pop back every now and then when I`m feeling nostalgic and to re-live those happy memories.

Comment: I came to Cuckney School when I was six in 1953 - and left when I was 15, that's the way it was if you failed the 11 plus. I loved it, Mr Clifton was headmaster followed by Mr Johnson, Mr Evans, Mrs Needham, Mrs Ibbotson, Mr Lewis, and best of all Miss Anderson (Mrs Dutton).. School dinners were fantastic, cooked entirely on the premises by Mrs Dillamore (I thought she was Mrs Dinnermore!!) Great school and many happy memories

Comment: This was my first school, whilst my dad was serving with the army based at welbeck college just down the road. Just before I left the school, they had a tree planted somewhere in the grounds because I was there youngest ever pupil. Could anyone tell me if it is still there?
